What Each Course Material Requirement Means
- Required
- Indicates the instructor is requiring the course material to be successful in the course.
- Recommended
- Indicates that the instructor may recommend the material to support success in the course. For example, in an English course, students may benefit from additional resources on grammar or research skills, which are available to assist as needed.
- Optional

- Choose One
- Indicates that the student can choose between the physical textbook or the eBook version of the required material.
Ways to Save on Course Materials
The University Campus Store is committed to providing you with options tailored to your study needs, learning style, and budget. Several cost-saving programs and products are listed below.
Physical Textbooks
While traditional textbooks are still a popular choice for many students, the growing prevalence of eBooks has made offering physical books increasingly challenging. Publishers have raised prices on most printed textbooks and transitioned many to print-on-demand. As a result, most courses now list only digital course materials.
eBook Digital Content
Digital Course Materials or eBooks are available here on our WilmU Campus Store website, or through our vendor partner's wilmu.vitalsource.com (opens in a new tab). Unless otherwise posted, eBooks are valid for 180 days.
Once you place your order, eBook access can be found in three locations:

- Your order history
- A separate email sent to the account you signed in with at the Campus Store. If you are unable to locate the email, please type the word "digital book" in your email search option.

Inclusive Access
How does Inclusive Access work and why is it beneficial?
Inclusive Access is a method of providing access to course materials when instructors are using interactive courseware platforms or eBooks in place of printed text. The program allows our campus to reduce student course materials costs in comparison to traditional print text and ensures that every student has easy access to the content on the first day of class.

Alternative Formats
Loose-leaf (LL) or Student Value Editions (SVE) textbooks are printed on single sheets with a 3-hole punch format, typically making them the least expensive option for new texts. These allow you to carry only a portion of the book at a time and reuse your 3-ring binder.
Custom books are printed specifically for the University and are available as bundled or packaged editions. Custom books can only be purchased through the Campus Store.
